The Jharkhand High Court cause list, and where it is published
The Jharkhand High Court publishes its cause lists on its own website, at the Entire Cause List page. One Court day normally has more than one publication: a Daily Cause List, a Supplementary Cause List, and separate Notified lists for individual Courts. Each is its own PDF, published at its own time, and a matter can appear in any of them.

Where the lists actually are
Every cause list the Court publishes is linked from one index page on the Court’s own website — the Entire Cause List page. The index carries the title of each publication and a link to it. There is no separate portal, no login, and nothing to install: it is a public page.
A link on that index does not go straight to the PDF. It opens the Court’s own viewer page, and the viewer carries the official download link that resolves to the actual PDF file. That is the order to follow — index, then viewer, then download — because the PDF filename is not something to guess at. Filenames have changed, and titles on the index have carried spelling variants such as SUPLEMENTARY and SUPPLEMENTAR alongside the correct one.
One Court day, several lists
This is the part that catches people out. On 7 August 2026 the index carried, for that one day: two separate Notified publications for Court No. 1, a Supplementary Cause List, and a Daily Cause List. Four documents, one day. Checking one of them and stopping tells you what is in that one document and nothing about the others.
- Daily Cause List — the main list for the Court day.
- Supplementary Cause List — matters added after the daily list was settled. It is published later, and it is the one that changes a day that already looked settled.
- Notified lists — published for an individual Court, sometimes more than one for the same Court on the same day.
Why finding your own matter is hard
The lists are long. A single Supplementary Cause List from 7 August 2026 ran to 59 pages, and a Daily list is longer. The text is laid out in columns — item number, case number, the party block, and two separate counsel columns — so an advocate’s name can sit in either counsel column, in either the Daily or the Supplementary list, on any of several documents.
The other half of the problem is your own name. The Court prints an advocate’s name the way the record carries it, and the same advocate can appear under more than one spelling across publications. Searching a PDF for one spelling finds the entries that use that spelling.
